Halloween Antics!

Okay, okay, we're not much for antics, but the kids got to head out and make the rounds around the neighborhood.

People were great again as usual, even though our street was kinda lackluster compared to the one around the corner. I actually came back home while Lorey and the kids (and their friend Natali) went on. I had to represent! :) So, I gave it a shot and got rid of some candy, but we still have waaay too much.

The kids made a decent haul in their quick trip, and we finally got them settled for bed. Even though they didn't eat all that much candy, getting dressed up and goofing around gets them a little wired. (In fact, Sierra just called out for Mommy to "check on her.")

So, I guess this officially means October has come to an end, and holiday season is coming soon! That's just craziness, but fun all the same. Remember to set your clocks back an hour on Saturday night/Sunday morning.

Here are some pictures from tonight...

Halloween isn't just the 31st...

...at least not this year!

On Wednesday, the church held its annual Trunk-Or-Treat which was a huge success. Of course, we didn't get to enjoy it as much as we'd like since Lorey was in charge of the whole thing! They had chili, hot dogs, desserts, games for the kids, and then trick or treating through the parking lot of very generous cars. Some people really got into it and totally decked out their cars, which was pretty neat. Overall, a huge success, and now Lorey can relax a bit at least for now. :)

Earlier on Wednesday, Sierra got to get dressed up for school as they had their preschool Halloween party. She was dressed as a "fairy princess" (no not a fairy or a princess, a fairy princess), and got to put make-up on and everything.

Today, Ryan went to school in costume (clown) and everyone seemed to get a kick out of it. It was kinda strange to see a kid dressed up as Michael Jackson, just because he's so out of vogue (or so I thought).

So, tomorrow is Halloween and we get to get all costumed up again! Should be a good time as our neighborhood really gets into it and seems to have a blast. I'll try and get some pictures before it's too dark, but we'll see how that goes. :)

Until then!

Here's a bonus slideshow of Sierra and I goofing around in her "new bed." Along with that, a couple of pics from the Trunk or Treat.

Bonk...

So I get "the call" at work today that Lorey and kids are running to the doctor.

Ryan fell while playing at the park and bonked the back of his head. He has a pretty sizeable (golf ball size-ish) knot on the backside of his dome, and literally cried for 1 or 2 hours straight after it happened. He's doing fine now and the doctor said no harm done, but it's always a fun day when something like that happens.

Meanwhile, his soccer team looked like frickin' Team Brazil last Saturday and crushed the Grasshoppers (of course we don't keep score, right? :) ). It was a pretty rough game with lots of crashes, falls, and a kid almost got kicked in the head. Everyone came out unscathed, and the kids were excited to play so well.

Sierra's doing well in school and really likes her class. Today, she was a good nurse taking care of Ryan, as well. She can pick on him a little bit sometimes, but when he needs her, she tries her best to take care of him (and vice versa, of course).

Okay, not much else going on today... hopefully tomorrow will be a little less entertaining. :)

More playoff craziness...

Anyone else see that Red Sox/Rays game on Thursday night? 7-0 Rays in the 7th turns into 8-7 Sox final. Crazy.

We're doing fine, just hanging... Sierra got a new bed and bedroom set which she was really excited about. I'll try to take some pictures, but it looks really cute in her room and hopefully she'll be comfortable in the big bed. Ryan's doing well in school and he has his Harvest Festival tomorrow. Should be fun with games, rides, food, and all kinds of fall stuff. Anyways... it's late, we have flu clinic at Walgreens tomorrow (short like 3 techs - ugh), so I'm gonna go get some rest.

Until later...

Baseball playoffs...

So I'm sitting here watching the Red Sox and Angels in extra innings, and thought I would throw out a quick blog. I've been watching the majority of the evening games since the playoffs started, and am really enjoying it! I've always enjoyed watching baseball of course, but the playoffs are so much better. Better fans, bigger pressure, just more intensity all around. Off to the 11th inning we go!

Speaking of sports, Jazz training camp is underway and preseason games start in TWO DAYS! Yes, I've become a diehard Jazz fan (I was pretty diehardish before, but now it's pretty sick), and can't wait to get things rolling again. We actually have a piece of season tickets this year so that'll be exciting. Alright, I'm gonna get back to watching Papelbon blow gas and see if the Angels can catch up.
