First Day of School!

Ryan officially started school today! First day of kindergarten has come and gone and he had a great time. He learned the rules of the class, colored pictures, read books, and played outside. We feel he can really excel in what seems it will be a slightly more disciplined enviroment (not discipline itself per se, but the teacher is trying to get the kids on a nice schedule which will produce a really nice place to learn and develop, imo).

Lorey took some pictures before school this morning... oh yeah, here they are:

Being behind...

...is not fun when blogging. It's really not fun when you've had a really fun summer and are too lazy to write about it. So I'm "marking summer as read" and starting fresh. Here goes:

Summer included: trips to Utah and San Diego, classes for kids, lots of reading, swimming, playing, running around, and having a good time. I have a ton of pictures I may or may not get to, but I vow to do my best to keep this sucker updated. Bad blogger, bad!

So what's up now? Even more, actually.

Ryan is starting school Monday morning, and I think I'm (we're) almost more excited than he is. We met his teacher (Mrs. Stemp) at his class, and she seems really nice and very well qualified. It sounds like Ryan's going to have lots of work and activities, but I'm sure he'll flourish in that type of environment. He also started soccer practice this past Wednesday (maybe I'll post those pics...). The league is different than I've heard of with the kids playing 3 on 3 (7 kid teams) with no goalie. Sounds like high scoring, but I saw the way the kids practiced, and if the ball ever makes it to the goal, it'll be neat! :) Either way, it's kinda fun to have a schedule for the kids and their activities, and it should be nice keeping up with them.

Sierra is going to start preschool in a couple of weeks. We hesitated on putting her in as she actually won't start kindergarten for two more years (with her post-Sept 1 birthday), but we think she'll really like it. We're wondering how she's going to handle life without her brother for a few hours each day, but it'll give us some extra time to have "Sierra time."

I'm going to try to find those pictures of soccer, and whatever else I can throw up here. My vow is to be better, and better I shall be.
